Reading campaign data in hours, not weeks: notes on an analyst agent
By the time a report is assembled, the campaign it describes is already over. How we wired an analyst agent into the media plan — and what it still gets wrong.
01 — The reporting lag is the problem
Most teams read their numbers once a month, which means every decision is made about a period that has already closed. The agent’s job is not to produce prettier charts; it is to make the read continuous so a bad segment can be stopped in week two.
02 — What it does well
Aggregation, anomaly spotting, and writing the boring part of the summary. It notices that one segment’s reply rate halved four days before a human would have opened the dashboard.
03 — What it still gets wrong
Causality. It will tell you that conversions fell; it will not know that a competitor ran a campaign that week, or that the product page was broken on mobile for two days. That context stays with the team, and the agent is only as useful as the notes they keep.
